Individuals being tested have their Vital signs taken and answers 5 medical questions to alert the clinician if they are a candidate for a more comprehensive fall risk assessment to aid in management of their overall Health and Medical needs.
Individual fills out up to two questionnaires: Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-15) & Fall Efficacy Scale (FES-I). The validity and reliability of both these tools has been supported by clinical practice and peer reviewed medical research.
1. FES-I: 16 questions regarding concerns about falling
2. GDS-15: 15 questions regarding depression.
The clinician performs 3 to 5 standardized gait and balance tests on the individual from the following:
-5x Sit to Stand (5TSTS),
-Timed Up & Go Test (TUG),
-Single Leg Stance (SLS),
-Self-Paced Walking Speed (SPWS)
-Berg Balance Scale (BBS).
The software analyzes the data and automatically calculates the Post-Test Probability and predicts an individuals risk of future falls over a twelve month period.
